Write an analogy of life – how it gives and takes away – based on how your grandmother made us peanut butter and jelly sandwiches one time. Put a little jelly on the bread , scrape off almost all of it , scrape the reclaimed jelly back into the jar. Same for the peanut butter – leaving a purple and tan tinged sandwich and the memory of the tough times our parents and grandparents endured etched deeply into their collective psyche and subconsciously affecting their , and indirectly our, subsequent behavior. (This is Take 2 trying to leave a comment) Regarding the 31 known screenwriters (“only 8” of whom are credited) working on “A Yank in Oxford”: Even as someone who started his career in film by rewriting other people’s scripts & continued doing so for decades thereafter, I’ve never understood either the legal or the perceptual disconnects accorded the original authors of two literary forms — screenplays & stage plays — that appear almost identical in print. While a dramatist has absolute control over the written play, the best the Writers Guild of America was able to win its screenwriters was a “good faith” agreement by producers to offer the original screenwriter(s) the first rewrite of their own work; after that, it was anything & anyone goes.
